04 — MIXING REFERENCE
Measure once.
Care properly.
For equipment soaking or spray-bottle application using DeSALT Concentrated, prepare a 1–3% solution with clean water.
Treat equipment after saltwater exposure, especially before extended storage.
Press the buttons and turn the knobs on suitable camera-housing and regulator controls so the solution can contact salt-prone areas.
Rinse as directed, allow equipment to dry fully, and store it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Important equipment-care note
DeSALT is intended to help reduce salt accumulation and the chance of controls becoming jammed. It does not replace the regular servicing required by the equipment manufacturer.
06 — PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
Before your
first clean.
Why not use only fresh water?+
Fresh water remains an important part of equipment care, but a quick rinse may not reach salt trapped around controls, seams and accessories. DeSALT adds a salt-focused treatment step to the routine.
How often should I use DeSALT?+
Use it regularly after saltwater exposure and before equipment is stored. Frequency should reflect how often the gear is used and the equipment manufacturer’s maintenance guidance.
Can I soak a camera housing?+
DeSALT is intended for underwater camera and video housings. Close and prepare the housing correctly, follow its manufacturer instructions, and operate suitable controls during soaking.
Does DeSALT replace professional servicing?+
No. It is a preventative care product that helps reduce salt accumulation. Regulators, BCDs, camera housings and other technical equipment still require inspection and servicing at the recommended intervals.
What equipment can I treat?+
Typical uses include dive gear, underwater imaging equipment, fishing tackle, marine surfaces, jet skis, tools and other salt-exposed ocean-sports equipment.
DETAILED USE GUIDE
Choose the right routine
for your trip.
During the trip: use DeSALT Ready To Use after each scuba dive for quick, convenient care. After returning home: use DeSALT Concentrated for a more thorough equipment soak and post-trip maintenance.
POST-TRIP SOAK- Prepare the solution.
Mix DeSALT Concentrated with clean water. Use a 1% solution for regular after-trip care, or 2–3% when equipment has had heavier or repeated salt exposure.
- Measure accurately.
For 10 litres of water, add 100 ml for 1%, 200 ml for 2%, or 300 ml for 3%. For 20 litres, add 200 ml, 400 ml, or 600 ml respectively.
- Soak for 20–30 minutes.
Fully immerse suitable equipment. While soaking, press the buttons and gently turn the knobs on suitable camera-housing and regulator controls so the solution reaches salt-prone areas. An overnight soak is not required.
- Rinse and dry.
Remove the equipment, rinse thoroughly with clean fresh water, and allow it to dry completely according to the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.
TRAVEL CARE- Apply after the dive.
After each dive—or after the final dive of the day—spray the solution onto salt-prone areas such as suitable camera-housing buttons and knobs.
- Work the controls.
Press the buttons and gently turn the knobs on suitable camera-housing and regulator controls so the solution contacts the areas around them.
- Allow to dry.
Let the treated equipment dry as directed. When the trip is over, follow with the DeSALT Concentrated soaking routine at home for more thorough post-trip care.
